i got invited up to my friend sarah's house for her birthday dinner. WOW!! it is only about 20 minutes out of town, but i have not seen roads or scenery like that since alaska. she lives with the jungle behind her house and she is on a cliff over looking the ocean. not a house in site. she doesn't have electricity or hot water. no windows or doors. just ocean breezes coming through all the time. we ate by candle like and they cooked by 'bbq'. AND i was the only person from the us. there were 2 french canadians, 5 canadians, 2 mexicans and an austrian. (not to mention the 2 VERY large dogs and tiny kitten that i couldn't put down.)
i am thankful for new friends who live in remote places.
